As I read this CNN article about “The Greatest” (Muhammad Ali) it really made me miss boxing –REAL BOXING- ….  Solid 12 rounds, knock down-drag out- fight for your life, your pride and (lastly) your money BOXING!!

Luckily I’m able to see old reruns of Ali’s bouts and all the antics that took place before, during and after the fights, it really looked like a good time.

I have been fortunate enough to be able to see some “epic battles” in my time…pretty much any Sugar Ray Leonard fight was going to be good , no matter who he fought (Hearns, Hagler, Duran)  and always made for good TV.

Mike Tyson fights were sometimes a gamble but entertaining, until he started battling himself and then it got a little sad.

Which brings us to now…..WHAT IN THE HELL is this B.S.  going on between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather?!?!?!?  All this fake smack talk is starting to take my dislike away from Don King and aiming it directly at the sport.  I know this is how its been done for a while,  but this shit is starting to get ridiculous…..on again/off again/ on again/ off again because he’s going to jail/ on because he found an angel / off again cause he lost it ….seriously???   So let me get this straight….they (jail) are willing to let Mayweather postpone his jail time for DOMESTIC VIOLENCE so he can FIGHT???  So does the pedophile get his last lunch at Chuck E. Cheese before his bus ride?

There is really no way to justify that other than to call “BULLSHIT”……It's not like it used to be when it was winner take all.  Now the loser can make more than the winner; then what’s the point…..of them fighting and me paying to watch?

I would rather watch ROCKY BALBOA slug it out against Clubber Lang, Ivan Drago or even THUNDER LIPS, and all its going to cost me is an afternoon on the couch during the Spike TV marathon.
