Besides a heavyweight collision between Alistair Overeem and Junior dos Santos, UFC 146 will get an especially tantalizing lightweight encounter.

Contenders Edson Barboza and Evan Dunham are slated to meet at UFC 146, which takes place May 26 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Barboza is coming off of three consecutive “Fight of the Night” performances, when he recently defeated Terry Etim, knocking out the Brit in one of the best finishes in UFC history, via spinning back kick.

The victory over Etim helped keep Barboza undefeated in his mixed martial arts career, capping off a 10-0 run as a professional.

Dunham is now enjoying the pleasure of back-to-back victories after suffering a career worse two fight skid. In his last outing, Dunham slugged it out with Nik Lentz at UFC on FOX 2, where the dup earned “Fight of the Night” honors, though ultimately Dunham exited the victory after battering and bruising Lentz early, yielding the TKO stoppage.

The winner between Barboza and Dunham will figure to be one of, if not the immediate contender to the UFC’s lightweight strap, which will be contested come this Saturday as champion Frankie Edgar takes on Benson Henderson in Japan.
